Deonta Davis is a passionate community leader with a life story drawn from resilience and the power of transformation. Born and raised in Temple, Texas, Deonta grew up in a single-parent home and knows firsthand the daily struggles of poverty. His early experiences have contributed to his deep passion for economic justice, particularly for those in socially and economically disadvantaged communities. 

Deonta’s journey has not been without its challenges. A period of poor judgment led him to become justice impacted – a chapter that could have negatively defined his future but has been a cornerstone of personal development and reflection. It was during this time that Deonta committed to using his voice to advocate for the socially disadvantaged and economically disenfranchised. 

Determined to make a difference, Deonta founded Make A Way Wellness – a nonprofit organization dedicated to neighborhood stabilization and reinvestment, and the creation of programs designed to enhance the welfare of marginalized communities. Deonta strives to empower those who share his background, making his work deeply personal as he leads others to realize and achieve their life’s purpose. 

Deonta serves not only as a dedicated community activist, but also as a dedicated husband and father to three wonderful children. His life is a powerful example of resilience and commitment to creating better outcomes for the next generation.
